This is a very sweet birthday crown. Yes, I did place it on a 2 year old who was eating chocolate icing, and yes, it did get icing on it. I was able to easily spot clean it with stain remover about 2 hours after the icing was applied. It's as good as new, waiting for the next birthday. I do love that it can be used multiple times by just changing the felt number to one of the 9 that are included. This crown does have stretch to accommodate various head sizes. I would say it fits the younger kids best, but my nine year old still snuggly got it on her head and said, "I can wear it!" Multiple birthdays, multiple kids...definitely worth it!
